It’s the 8th Anniversary of our Heart & Vascular Institute and still growing and continuing to be the highest, if not one of the highest, Revenue Center in our Medical Center. Again, my heartfelt thanks to all our staff especially to our Director for HVI, Dr. Juliana G. Tamayo.

Your theme for the 8th Cardiovascular Symposium “To Infinity and Beyond: Mastering the Basics and Forging the Future of Cardiovascular Management” is truly reflective and very much in line with the “We Care (Patient-Centered Care)” of the Perpetual Help Medical Center – Biñan and the UPH-Dr. Jose G. Tamayo Medical University’s theme of “MU: Real World Ready” even in Cardiovascular Management.

Most of all, your theme is very much a reflection of Dr. Jose G. Tamayo’s Founder’s Creed, “Today, makes our Tomorrow”

Greetings to all the Delegates, Speakers, Sponsors, and Organizers of the 8th Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) Cardiovascular Symposium!

It is with much gratitude to the Organizers, headed by HVI Director Dr. Juliana G. Tamayo, Chairperson Dr. Maria Donabel Marmeto-Salunson, and all the members of the organizing committee that this event is being held annually for the continuing medical education of the Hospital and Medical Staff, Medical Residents Cardiovascular Fellows, and medical community of Perpetual Help Medical Center - Biñan (PHMCB).

In the midst of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) integration in the Philippine healthcare system and with the increasing demand to address non-communicable diseases (NCD’s) including cardiovascular diseases, we must strive and persevere to lead our patients to a healthier lifestyle in each family, community, school, and workplace. It is also imperative to strengthen primary health care (PHC) in our health services and programs alongside the enhancement of tertiary, advanced and specialized care that is essential for cardiovascular care.

We are committed to working together and supporting the Heart and Vascular Institute in its journey and commitment to provide excellent and exceptional cardiovascular care to patients and the community we serve.
